Lucy is one of the sweetest goats you'd ever have met, and tallest! She towered over all the other goats, and even the mini horses. Lucy was pulled from a severe neglect home along with the other animals. She was drastically underweight, anemic, needed worming and her hooves had grown into layers of multiple hooves. Her recovery was slow and at her age we were unsure how well she would fair from all the change and treatment.
It turned out that Lucy was the greatest adventurer of all the goats! She would be the first to explore a new area, or squish down a fence. She didn't mind being on her own as long as she had a herd to sleep with but would help the other goats get around too and watch out for them all. Most of all she adored having attention from people and getting treats and scratches. It wasn't long before Lucy really started to recovery and do quite well, although it was evident she was definitely an elderly lady. She had so much more life to give despite being older that she was eventually placed as adoptable. A family soon messaged about Lucy and asked if she needed a home still. They offered her a wonderful home, space to roam, lovely warm shelters, and a herd of goats like her. When Lucy was scheduled to go down to her new potential home, she was greeted by an entire family welcoming party! She fit in immediately and we all knew she'd hit the jackpot. Especially when their pygmy goat was flirting up a storm and all the other goats were happy to accept Lucy right away. She now has a home full of respectful loving kids, a wonderful goat dad, a loving goat mom and many goat family herd members. We're so glad all her last days for however long will be filled with more joy than she could imagine! Happy forever home, Lucy!
