June’s Tale. June has a story that is far too common. Beginning with a home that should’ve been her loving forever home as a young pup. Instead that home didn’t feel she was worth giving the love, time or even necessities of life to grow into a happy and healthy adult. She was then left on a chain in the yard for over a year. Her very first year of life, left on a lot with barely enough food to sustain herself, and even less love. The property June lived on was later sold as she approached a year and a half, and a new family moved in. This family had no need or desire to have a dog, yet there she was left on the property on a chain, starving for food and for affection. Unfortunately, this family had no intention of providing her with these things. Thanks to someone who tipped of animal services a home visit was performed, and requirements for better circumstances for June were set. At a follow up, and failed home visit, charges were to be pressed unless June was immediately released into their custody. Fortunately for June, animal services were able to recover her that day. June began her road to recovery with a surgery to remove the embedded collar that had grown into her skin over a long period of time being on the end of a chain. She was also fixed, given shots, and shaved to remove her severely matted fur and allow her skin to air out and heal. She has been gaining weight to a healthy standard and has shown that despite her circumstances she still very much loves anyone and everything. June passed all her temperament tests after we took her in and quickly took the heart of her soon to be forever mum. Sadly, although June was already over a year and a half old, she was still a puppy and was weakened by her system recovery so therefore had gotten kennel cough in the shelter before we pulled her. With quick response though she was treated for her kennel cough and given a full bill of health later while in the custody of her forever mum in California! She was given a thorough behavior plan for future training, adjustment to a true family life and full long-term recovery with which we expect 100% normal future! Not only did June end up with a forever mum and dad, but she has love for days from her brother and sister pup as well! June bug is the sweetest girl who is happy to FINALLY be home, healthy, loved and secure. Her mum updates us with frequent pictures of her enjoying a warm bed inside, play time outside, her siblings and cuddles on the couch. We can’t thank Victoria enough for wholeheartedly bringing June into her family and life. We know she’ll now get everything she has long awaited and deserves – and more.
